While 68% of furniture exhibitors at Canton Fair report declining deal sizes, our reverse-engineering of buyer psychology generated $420,000 in new contracts from Jordan,Rwanda and more. This data-driven breakdown reveals how we transformed standard booth interactions into high-value partnerships through evidence-led selling and negotiation architecture.

Jordanian Wedding Rental Co. Deal Anatomy

The 5.5-Hour Negotiation Breakthrough

  • 13:30: Initial contact - showed interest in 3 chair models and 2 sofa designs
  • Pain Point: Previous supplier's chairs lasted ≤80 events before joint failure

What's more, the most memorable deal was with the wedding rental company from Jordan. To begin with, their team came to our booth at about 1:30 pm to look at our event furniture. They selected several products they liked. Meanwhile, while we were preparing the quotation, they went to visit other exhibitors.

Since this is our first collaboration and the order is quite substantial, we understand the client might have some initial concerns. So we carefully demonstrate our reliability and professionalism:

  • We use high-quality materials for our wedding rental furniture
  • As the direct factory, we can control every step of production
  • Our products last longer with better durability
  • We can guarantee on-time delivery
  • The quality matches the price perfectly

To better illustrate this, we showed them:

  • Real samples of the materials we use
  • Photos and videos of our production process
  • Quality test videos
  • Clients feedback from other markets

As a result, the negotiation lasted from 1 pm until about 6:30 pm - almost half a day! During this process:

  • We checked all costs carefully
  • Furthermore, we explained each part of our pricing
  • Discussed different payment options
  • Talked about possible future cooperation

Finally, at 6:30 pm, they agreed to place an order! This was our first big success at the 137th fair.

Rwandan Hotel Group Negotiation

  • Location: Off-site meeting at buyer's hotel (21:00)
  • Challenge: Needed confirmation within 4 hours for project timeline

Later that same evening, we had another great surprise. We met with a client from Rwanda at their hotel. They wanted to see more of our event furniture samples. Accordingly, we brought our product catalog and some small samples. After discussing all the details about prices, delivery times and payment terms, they decided to place an order right away!

In summary, in just one day, we got two orders. Overall, during the whole fair, we successfully signed deals with three new clients.

From this experience, here's what we learned:

  • Clients understand that good quality costs more
  • Moreover, showing our factory production helps build trust
  • Being patient in negotiations is important

Looking ahead, we believe this success is just the beginning. With good quality products and honest business practice, we will achieve even better results in the future. On a personal note, one of our team members had been feeling unsure about her work performance. As May approached, she was losing some confidence in her business abilities. However, the success at this Canton Fair completely changed her perspective and gave her new hope.

After seeing the positive results from the fair, she made a decision:

  • To approach every client with more enthusiasm
  • Besides, to handle every task carefully and responsibly
  • To focus on doing solid, practical work

After putting this mindset into practice in May and June, she achieved satisfying results. She hopes to maintain this attitude moving forward-treating every client with sincerity, dedication, and never letting down their trust.

Ultimately, it proved that with the right attitude and persistent effort, good results will follow. This experience has motivated our entire team to keep working hard and believing in ourselves.
